In this regard, the British Ambassador gave an update on the UK-BMA partnership, Global Future Cities Programme (GFCP). The GFCP has provided a technical exchange and capacity building programme for BMA officials. The programme focuses on 3 areas: Integrated Data Hub, Decision-support System for Flood Management in Bangkok, and Transit-oriented Development Plan in Khlong Bang Luang and Bang Wa BTS Station.25 Feb. 22, 10.00 hrs., Ministry of Interior – Mr. Chawin Sirinak, Deputy Permanent Secretary for BMA jointly welcomed H.E. Mr. Mark Gooding, British Ambassador to Thailand, at the courtesy call on General Anupong Paochinda, Minister of Interior. The two parties discussed on topics such as displaced persons from the current situation in Myanmar, temporary shelters, statelessness, National Screening Mechanism (NSM), as well as the cooperation between the United Kingdom and Thailand.
The Minister of Interior realized the importance of the partnership and its goals to improve the quality of life of the people of Bangkok. The Minister also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the UK Government and the BMA for the partnership on the GFCP.
