The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019 will take place on 6–8 June.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is a unique event in the world of business and economics. SPIEF has been held since 1997, and since 2006, it has been held under the auspices of the President of the Russian Federation, who has also attended each event. Roscongress Foundation is the operator of the Forum. Every year, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum serves as a platform for the discussion of key issues in the world economy, regional integration, and the development of new industrial and technological sectors, as well as of the global challenges facing Russia and other nations. An important innovation at SPIEF 2018 was the inclusion of a social agenda in the Forum programme. Events at the Forum traditionally take place in the form of panel sessions, roundtables, televised debates, business breakfasts, and business dialogues devoted to Russia’s relationships with various countries. Major Russian and international companies with Forum Partner status have the opportunity to present their products and services and organize themed networking areas. The SPIEF Investment & Business Expo is a platform at the Forum venue where companies can showcase their promising Russian and international investment projects, B2B solutions, and technologies. SPIEF participants include representatives from Russian and foreign business, heads of international organizations, public officials, experts, scientists, and journalists. In 2018, the Forum brought together a record number of participants – over 17,000 from 143 countries. SPIEF 2018 saw the signing of 593 investment agreements, worth a total of RUB 2,625 billion.
