On 1st April 2022 at 16.30 hrs., H.E. Mr. Joseph Anthony Cotter, the Ambassador of Ireland to Thailand, together with Ms. Piyachat Tharechat, Consular Supervisor met Mr. Khachit Chatchawanit, the Permanent Secretary for the BMA, for bidding farewell on the occasion of his tenure leaving. On this occasion, Assistant Permanent Secretaries for the BMA and Director of International Affairs Office jointly welcomed at Amornphimarn Room, Bangkok City Hall.
The Ambassador expressed his appreciation to the Permanent Secretary for the BMA and the BMA Executives for their warm welcome. Also, he thanked for the various collaborations during his tenure in Thailand, especially the Global Greening Programme. This program made Ireland being well-known internationally and the BMA has participated in this program since 2020. After his retirement, the Ambassador would bring back good memories and friendships between both agencies. On this occasion, the Permanent Secretary for the BMA also expressed his appreciation for granting the BMA the opportunity to participate in the Global Greening Programme, which has helped promote Bangkok tourism to be well-known as a world-class tourist destination. Additionally, both sides also mentioned the consideration of the establishment of Sister City Relationships between Cork of Ireland and Bangkok

The Ambassador of Ireland to Thailand paid the farewell call on the Permanent Secretary for the BMA on the occasion of his tenure leaving
