M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra, Governor of Bangkok led BMA administratives to visit
Tianjin, People’s Republic of China to sign the establishment of the Friendship Exchanges and
Cooperative Relationship with Mr. Huang Xingguo, Mayor of Tianjin Municipal Government on 27
February 2012 to make Tianjin the 19th sister city of Bangkok, and the fifth Chinese city after Beijing,
Chaozhou, Guangzhou and Chongqing which Bangkok has established sister cities relations. Under this
agreement, Bangkok and Tianjin agreed to cooperate in various fields like economy, environment,
health, science and technology, culture, education and tourism etc.
