
On 14th October 2019 Mr. Kriangyos Sudlabha, Deputy Governor of Bangkok together with Mr. Somboon Homnan, Deputy Director-General of Culture Sports and Tourism Department attended in the 5th Lower Mekong Tourism Cities Mayors’ Summit in Vientiane Capital, the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The Lower Mekong Tourism Cities Mayors’ Summit is the platform of the mayor of the five cities in the Lower Mekong sub-region, including Bangkok (Kingdom of Thailand), Ho Chi Minh City (Socialist Republic of Vietnam), Phnom Penh Capital City (Kingdom of Cambodia), Vientiane Capital (Lao People's Democratic Republic) and Yangon City (Republic of the Union of Myanmar) aims to promote tourism cooperation. It’s also the principle of exchanging information for the implementation of tourism development and creating tourism networks among member cities. The theme of this year’s summit is “Towards an Integrated and Connected Lower Mekong Tourism Cities Community”. On this occasion, BMA shared best practices on the topic of “Tourism Services Standard” as well as exchanged experiences on various aspects such as tourism products improvement, tourism promotion activities to enhance the charm of the cities to attract both regional and global tourists etc.
