City Information
Phnom Penh, also spelled as Pnom Penh or Phom Penh or Khmer Phnum Penh, is the capital and the largest city of Cambodia. It is the center of security, politics, economics, cultural heritage, and diplomacy of the country.
Phnom Penh has a total area of 678.5 square kilometer. The city is located in the south-central part of the country, at the confluence of the Basăk (Bassac), Sab, and Mekong river systems. These rivers provide attractive freshwater and ecosystems for the city. The total population of the city is approximately 1,952,000.
