City Information

Shandong Province is a northern coastal sheng (province) of China which lies across the Yellow Sea from the Korean peninsula, roughly at the north latitude of 34°22′52″
to 38°15′02″ and the east longitude of 114°19′53″ to 122°43′. It borders with Hebei, Henan, Anhui and Jiangsu. The province has a total area of 157,800 square with the mountainous and hilly areas of 37.45% and the plains of 62.55%. There are many beautiful mountains in Shandong such as Kunyu Mountain, Tai Mountain, Yantai Hill, etc. The main rivers include
the Yellow River, the Huaihe River, the Haihe River and the Xiaoqing River. The Dongping Lake is the province's flood detention and storage regulating reservoir on the lower reach of the Yellow River. Besides, there are many other beautiful lakes such as the Nansi Lake,
the Baiyun Lake, the Qingsha Lake, etc.

In 2018, Shandong has a total population of 10,047,000 which include an urban population of 6,147,000 and a rural population of 3,900,000. The birth rate is 17.54 % and death rate is 7.4%. It is the second largest populous province in China after Guangdong. The majority of Shandong residents has the Han origin which accounts as 99.32% of all residents and there is 0.68% of the other ethnic groups such as Hui, Manchu, etc.

The main industries in Shandong include shipping manufacturing, medicine, household and electrical appliances manufacturing, profession equipment, non-ferrous smelting and beer. The main export products are such as electromechanical products, aerospace products, beer, household appliances, automobile parts, etc.
