City Information
Tianjin (Chinese: 天津; Pinyin: Tiānjīn; Pin in the postal system: Tientsin) is one of four municipalities (Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai and Tianjin) in China. Tianjin means "Port of the Emperor." The municipality is located at a latitude ranging from 38° 34’ to 40° 15’ N, and a longitude ranging from 116° 43’ to 118° 04’ E and borders Beijing Municipality and Hubei Province. The east of Tianjin is bounded by the Bohai Gulf which is a portion of the Yellow Sea.. The municipality has a total area of 11,917 square kilometers with estimated population of 13,396,000 คน (as of 2019). Tianjin is a part of the Bohai Economic Rim (BER) or Bohai Bay Economic Rim which is an important industrial center of China. The major industries of Tianjin include aviation, petrochemicals, textiles, automobiles, metalworking, electronic and information technology.

Climate
Located near Beijing, Tianjin's weather is similarly characterized by four distinct seasons, including spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Like most cities in northern China, July tends to be the hottest month, during which the average temperature can reach 26 C (79 F) or even higher, while January is the coldest with an average temperature of -4 C (25 F).

Sister City Agreement
- On 27 February 2012, Mr. Huang Xingguo, Mayor of Tianjin and M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra, Governor signed the Agreement on the Establishment of Friendship Exchanges and and Cooperative Relationship between Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, the People’s Republic of China and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Kingdom of Thailand at Tianjin.
