City Information
Seville or Sevilla is the chief city of Andalusia and the fourth largest in Spain. The city lies on the east bank of the Guadalquivir River in the north of the Atlantic Ocean. The gps coordinates of Seville are 37° 23' 20.7312'' N and 5° 59' 4.0524'' W. It has a territory of 140.8 square kilometers and a total population of 705,000 in 2019. With the long history over 2,200 years and rule by various racial groups like Roman, Visigoth Arab, Seville becomes a city of cultural combination as seen by ancient sites and objects as well as arts and sciences. At present, Seville is one of southern Spain’s important center of finance, culture arts and tourism.

Climate
Seville has pronounced Mediterranean climate with hot and dry weather. The city has four seasons, including spring, summer, autumn and winter. Annual amount of precipitation is relatively moderate and most of it falls in winter and spring.

Summer in Seville is definitely hot. Highest temperature may even jump to 40 °C (104 °F). On the other hand, after sunset air cools down to pleasant 17-20 °C (62-68 °F). Visitors are waiting the heat out in hotels or other conditioned rooms to flood the streets when it gets cooler.

Sister City Agreement
On 23 November 2017, Mr. Juan Espadas Cejas, Mayor of Seville. and Pol. Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok (by Mr. Peerapong Sirikasem, Deputy Director-General of Strategy and Evaluation Department) signed the Memorandum of Understanding Between Seville City Council, the Kingdom of Spain and Bangkok, the Kingdom of Thailand at Seville.
