City Information

Porto (Portuguese: Oporto) is a city and port in the northern Portugal. The city lies alongthe Douro River, 3 kilometers from the river's mouth on the North Atlantic Ocean and 280 kilometers in the north of Lisbon (or Lisboa). The GPS-coordinates of Porto are 41° 9' 28.598" N 8° 37' 44.779" W. Porto has the total area of 41.3 square kilometers. In 2019, Porto's population is estimated at 1,310,000.

Porto is Portugal's entrepreneurial and industrial region. The main industries include textile, electronics, machinery and footwear. Furthermore, the city is developing technology based business such as medical devices, pharmaceutical, biochemistry and biotechnology.

The Port of Leixões, Portuguese Porto De Leixões is an artificial harbour on the Atlantic Ocean, the principal seaport serving the city of Porto. Cruise ships dock in Leixoes is located approximately 10 kilometers from the city center. Porto is world famous for its port wine and UNESCO World Heritage site Ribiera. It is one of the most popular cruise destinations along the Atlantic Ocean.

Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, the signing of Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation, the meeting and discussion on tourism, the presentation of Portugal and Porto Leading and Best Destination, the boat trip along the Chao Phraya River, the visit to KudichinCommunity and Baan Kudichin Museum as well as the dinner hosted by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
