Governor of Bangkok Signed Letter of Intent with Mayor of Busan, Republic of Korea

Governor of Bangkok signed Letter of Intent (LOI) with Mayor of Busan, Republic of Korea.

Ichikai Association presented scholarships to schools under jurisdiction of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration on February 3, 2011. BMA Deputy Governor (Ms. Thaya Theepasuwan) presided over the 2010 Ichikai Scholarships Awarding Ceremony at Chao Phaya Room, BMA City Hall. Mr. Hiroshi Takano, Deputy President of Ichikai, represented the Association in awarding scholarships to 15 students each of Bt. 4,000, totaling Bt. 60,000.

 

 

Ichikai Association is organized by companies and organizations with Head Offices in Ichi Prefecture, Japan, and operating branches in Thailand. Its current members comprise 127 companies.  Chaired by
Mr. Kyoichi Tanada, President of Toyota Motors Thailand, the Association has the objectives to foster the relationship between Japan and Thailand, as well as to launch activities for the benefits of its members and the public as a whole.

    The Association has offered scholarships to schools under jurisdiction of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration since 1983, totaling 12 times in the amount of Bt. 840,000. Ichikai Association regularly joins activities with BMA, especially in terms of educational policy support by offering scholarships to good but financially needy students. In addition, the Association initiated students exchange programs between Bangkok and Ichi Prefecture, the first trip of which will start in April 2011. The programs aim at expanding students’ educational opportunity, enhancing co-operation between the two cities and strengthening friendly relationship between Thailand and Japan.
