Mr. Vallop Suwandee, Chairman of Advisers to the Governor of Bangkok and Mr. Seerawsankhan Pathan, Director-General of Strategy and Evaluation Department led a delegation of BMA from City Planning and Urban Development Department, Environment Department, and International Affairs Office to attend the 4th Smart Cities Africa Casablanca 2019 under the theme "Artificial Intelligence serving citizens" between 16-20 April 2019 In Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco
On this occasion, Mr. Vallop was honored to deliver a speech at the opening ceremony together with H.E. Abdelaaziz Omari, Mayor of the City of Casablanca. Mr.Vallop also shares experiences and best practices of Bangkok’s Transit-Oriented Development project “the Phahon Yothin Center and the Bang Sue Grand Station” which innovation, artificial intelligence, and smart technologies were applied. Bangkok as the Guest of Honor received a lot of attention from local media.
In addition, BMA representatives, called on H.E. Mr. Darm Boontham, Ambassador of Thailand to Morocco and the Mayor of Casablanca to discussed common issues and challenges, including the initiative and cooperation relating to the relations between the two countries in using artificial intelligence technology to improve the quality of people’s life and the smart city in the future.
