On 22nd February 2022 at 13.00 hrs., H.E. Mr. Han Zhiqiang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Thailand, together with Counsellor on Administrative Affairs and Attaché paid a courtesy call on Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, on occasion of assuming the position. In this regard, Mr. Vallop Suwandee, Chairman of Advisors to Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Kriangyos Sudlabha, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, and Miss Pussadee Phrommayon, Assistant Permanent Secretary for the BMA, jointly welcomed at Amornphimarn Room, Bangkok City Hall.
The Ambassador said that Bangkok is Thailand’s center on politics, administration, and economy. With rapid and continuous development, it has been globally well-known. In addition, the ambassador admired Bangkok for efficient management amid COVID-19 pandemic and thanked for consistent assistance and facilitation provided to the Embassy. Governor of Bangkok said that the Chinese and the Thai people has maintained the cordial and long-lasting relations. A lot of overseas Chinese have settled down in Thailand and played an important role in developing the Thai society from the past up to the present. For Bangkok, it has established the sister city relations with 11 cities in China and has continuously implemented activities and cooperation.
Governor of Bangkok added that, at present, China is a model country on the good governance in various aspects, and Bangkok have learned new know-how for applying to the city development such as waste management, urban renovation and so on. The Ambassador expressed the Embassy’s readiness to cooperate with Bangkok and help facilitate the coordination with Chinese agencies and companies running business on the city management in the future.
