On February 22, 2022, Mr. Chawin Sirinak, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), gave opening remarks at the International Urban and Regional Cooperation (IURC) and the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP) online meeting along with H.E. Mr. David Daly, Ambassador of the European Union to Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Lorenzo Galanti, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Thailand. This meeting was held between BMA, IURC and Milan on the occasion of Bangkok becoming a member of the MUFPP. The representatives of the BMA discussed food policy in 3 main areas, food security, food safety and food waste management. As well as discussion for further cooperation and information exchange. In this occasion, Mr. Jarupong Penggliang, Director of the Planning and City Capacity Development Division, shared the challenges of the city under the COVID-19 epidemic situation and how the BMA responded to said challenges.
