On 8th March 2022 at 11.00 hrs., H.E. Mr. João-Bernardo de Oliveira Martins Weinstein, Ambassador of the Portuguese Republic to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, on occasion of assuming the position.
In this regard, the Governor of Bangkok and the Ambassador watched a short video that the International Affairs Office has prepared to promote the Bangkok Brand products, with the Ambassador reviewing various products such as inhalers, soaps, and Khan Long Hin (stone-polished bronze bowls), etc. The Ambassador said that the Portuguese Embassy is located on the royal land along the Chao Phraya River. It is a beautiful ancient house with a long history. He added that Thailand and Portugal have a long-standing relationship like family. The Ambassador also added that the Embassy is very pleased to help the BMA to promote other local products. Moreover, if the BMA would like to use the Embassy premises to organize any activities or events, the Embassy welcomes any requests.
The Governor of Bangkok welcomed and thanked for the cooperation in the future. The Governor added that Bangkok has a 79-kilometer dam along the Chao Phraya River, but there are gaps in some areas. Regarding the dam in the area of the embassy that has not been completed, the BMA has assigned the Drainage and Sewerage Department to implement corrective actions, which will be completed this year. The Ambassador thanked the BMA and stated that the Embassy is delighted to cooperate with the BMA water experts in solving water management problems.
On this occasion of assuming the position in Bangkok, the Governor presented a gift to the Ambassador of the Republic of Portugal, namely Key to the City of Bangkok and Aroma Soaps, which is one of the famous Bangkok Brand products.
