The Ambassador of the Portuguese Embassy to Thailand paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Bangkok

On 21st July 2022 at 11.00 hrs., Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, the Governor of Bangkok, welcomed H.E. Mr. João Bernardo WEINSTEIN, the Ambassador of the Portuguese Embassy to Thailand, and Mr. Carlos Reino Antunes, Deputy Head of Mission at Amornphimarn Room, Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha).

The Ambassador congratulated the Governor of Bangkok for his victory in the gubernatorial election.  As the BMA has established sister city relations with two cities in Portugal, namely Lisbon and Porto, both the Ambassador and the Governor of Bangkok agreed to promote mutual and city-to-city collaboration.  This includes to jointly organize activities with the support from the Embassy, especially in terms of culture, arts, education, and tourism.  Moreover, the Ambassador wish for more Thai students to travel to Portugal to study.  The Governor of Bangkok also wish for more Portuguese tourists in Bangkok as well.  Therefore, both sides are glad to work together to achieve concrete results on these matters.
