On 20th July 2022 at 10.00 hrs., six representatives from Franco – Thai Chamber of
Commerce, led by Ms. Onanong Pratakphiriya, FTCC Vice-President & Corporate Affairs and Engagement Director at L'Oréal Thailand paid a courtesy call on Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok. In this regard, Assoc. Prof. Wisanu Subsompon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Somchai Dechakorn, Director-General of City Planning and Urban Development Department, and Mr. Seanyakorn Aunmesri, Director-General of Strategy and Evaluation Department jointly welcomed at the meeting room, 31st Fl. Thani Noppharat Building, Bangkok City Hall 2, Mit Maitri Road, Din Daeng District, Bangkok.
Governor of Bangkok had the pleasure to meet the delegation from Franco – Thai Chamber of Commerce, as investors who have run business in Thailand for long time, and opportunities in strengthening relations with French communities in Thailand for future cooperation. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is delighted to consider facilitating matters relating to laws and regulations for more convenient operation of French business sector.
Ms. Onanong Pratakphiriya gave details of Franco – Thai Chamber of Commerce which was one of the first foreign chambers of commerce founded in Thailand. Since the establishment in 1966, the Chamber of Commerce reaches its 55th anniversary in 2022. Franco – Thai Chamber of Commerce performs main duties relating to promotion of trade and investment exchange between France and Thailand, and support of seeking business opportunities of French companies in Thailand and those of Thailand in France.
In this connection, both sides discussed information and cooperation on various fields, especially the application of the concept of smart city for sustainably promoting and developing Bangkok for all, such as Traffy Fondue, which was an application supporting the more effective problem management. The concept of smart city can be used for solving various problems like traffic and transport, waste management, energy and so on as well as the topics relating to education, elderly care, environment, establishment of relations between Bangkok and cities in France. Franco – Thai Chamber of Commerce is delighted to provide support so that the implementation of the BMA’s above missions could achieve its determined goals.
