The Governor of Bangkok has delivered a speech online at the Global Smart City Cooperation and Development Summit 2022 hosted by Shanghai, People's Republic of China on November 8, 2022
The summit was held between 8-9 November 2022 under the theme of “World’s Smart City Bridge” as an important part of a summit line-up and more open online platform which will cover all industry sectors, especially new urban digital transformation, also create opportunities for the participants to discuss about modern tends and share achievements in building smart cities in all around the world as well as seek possibility to develop smart cities together.
The opening ceremony of the meeting consisted of speeches by Mr. Minhao Zhou, Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai, Mr. Gong Zheng, Mayor and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Prof. Supachai Pathumnakul, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Higher Education Science and Innovation Thailand. Moreover, Mr. Yunfa Liao, Vice President of China Institute of Information and Communication Technology East China Region officially launched the “Digital City+” platform.
During Bangkok session, the Governor of Bangkok sent a video speech to attend the summit, having said “I think the key success for the future smart city is collaboration because I think the problems of each city is not unique, our problems happen somewhere else, so I think we can learn from each other, can learn the solution from other cities…” In addition, business representatives from 2 companies showcased projects: 1) SCG showcased a project on the topic of “SCG and Smart Cities” 2) MuvMi showcased a project on the topic “Reimagining Microtransit Mobility in Bangkok”
Government and private representatives from other cities participating in the summit included Hong Kong, Osaka, Dubai, Ho Chi Minh, etc.
