On November 25 2022, the Governor of Bangkok presided over the opening ceremony of Coins on Silom 2022. The event included speeches of the Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Patrick Gauvain, President of Rotary Club of Bangkok South, Iida Mitsutaka, Rotary District 3350 Governor, and Wiyada Srinaganand, Country Leader, 3M Thailand Limited, the ribbon cutting ceremony and putting "coins" (stickers) on the red carpet made of 3M tape on the both sides of Silom Road pathway to symbolize donation to help the disabled and underprivileged children through Rotary projects such as clean drinking water for schools, Kid’s Day Out, Polio Plus, etc.
The Governor of Bangkok stated that "I think the motto of Rotary is important... "Service above Self"... Service before Self so that’s what we are doing here. I think it's not only this event but it has the ripple effect..." He also stated that "This event is important and will have much much more impact rather than donation but on empathy, interaction, between people among people in society. Thank you for organizing the event."
