On 13th January 2023 at 09.00 hrs., H.E. Mr. Hattori Seitaro, Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture,
Japan, together with Mr. Inoue Hirotaka, Vice Chairperson of Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly and delegation paid a courtesy call on Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok. In this regard, Assoc.Prof. Tavida Kamolvej, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Arit Srithong, Deputy Director – General of Environment Department and administrators from Education Department, Office of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Civil Service Commission, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Training and Development Institute and International Affairs Office, jointly welcomed Fukuoka Prefecture delegation at Amornphimarn Room, Bangkok City Hall.
Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture expressed his delight for having an opportunity to officially visit Bangkok for the first time after his assumption to Governorship, and appreciated cordial and long-lasting friendship of both sides after the establishment of sister city relations in 2006 via a variety of cooperation like youth, environment, education, culture etc. With fast changes of world situations, adaptation and preparedness of cities are vital. Therefore, cooperation in different fields should be promoted, especially on personnel development, considered an important mechanism in driving missions to success. In this connection, Governor of Bangkok said that the human resource development should be started with youth who will play an important role in creating the society and extended to officials, and this management will result in long-term and concrete benefit. In addition, the signing of Memorandum of Understanding on Further Cooperation will open up more opportunity for cooperation in areas of mutual interest or current issues with challenges like tourism, economy, innovation, disaster management, ageing society and so on.
