On 21st February 2023 at 16.30 hrs., Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, together
with administrators and officers of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), jointly planted trees with diplomatic corps from the Embassy of the United Mexican States to Thailand, led by H.E. Mr. Bernardo Cordova Tello, Ambassador of the United Mexican States to Thailand and Mrs. Adriana Méndez Murguía, the Ambassador’s spouse, at Lumpini Park, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok. The tree planting activity was organized in order to strengthen the good relations between the BMA and the Embassy and support the Governor of Bangkok’s environment policy relating to planting a million trees and creating a green wall to filter dust across the city. Trees mutually planted is heaven lotus, which is a tropical perennial with beautiful blossoms and is recognized as an auspicious tree according to Buddhist belief. In addition, the Governor of Bangkok and the Ambassador discussed opportunities for cooperation in various fields such as film festival, music in the park, sport competition (football), and establishment of sister city relations between Bangkok and Mexico City.
