The celebrating of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the sister city relationship between Bangkok and Fukuoka Prefecture.
Mr. Chatchat Sitthipan, the Governor of Bangkok, along with his executive team and officials from Bangkok, visited Fukuoka Prefecture from August 22nd to 26th, 2023, in response to an invitation from Mr. Seitaro Hattori, the Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture.

Mr. Chatchat Sitthipan, the Governor of Bangkok, along with his executive team and officials from Bangkok, visited Fukuoka Prefecture from August 22nd to 26th, 2023, in response to an invitation from Mr. Seitaro Hattori, the Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture. The visit aimed to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the sister city relationship between Bangkok and Fukuoka Prefecture. On the same evening, the Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture hosted a reception in honor of the Bangkok delegation at the Nishitetsu Grand Hotel in Fukuoka City. Approximately 100 attendees were present, including the Chief Executive of Fukuoka City, Ms. Sudaporn Woraphon, the Director of the Fukuoka Office of TAT, Ms. Pananee Suwannathupin, the Head of the Representative Office for the Promotion of Trade in Hiroshima, as well as members of the Thai community in Fukuoka.
Both parties praised the strong relationship that has developed between Bangkok and Fukuoka Prefecture over the past 15 years, which began in 2021. They expressed their gratitude to the organizations and individuals from both sides who have contributed to strengthening this relationship. Over the past 15 years, the two parties have collaborated on more than 50 projects, including economic cooperation, cultural exchange, environmental initiatives, elderly care, education, youth development, and tourism. Currently, three airlines operate direct flights between the two cities, making travel between Thailand and Japan more convenient.
On August 23rd , 2023, at 11:00 AM, the Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture, the Governor of Bangkok, and other high-ranking officials from both sides participated in the opening ceremony of the Bangkok Fair. This event was a collaboration between Bangkok and the Fukuoka Prefecture Office and took place from August 23rd to 25th , 2023, at the Hakata Station Plaza. The Bangkok Fair featured exhibitions highlighting the history of the relationship between the two cities, the promotion of Bangkok's branded products (Bangkok Brand), tourism in Bangkok (Bangkok Tourism), and Thai tourism. The event also included the sale of Thai products and food, as well as cultural performances from Thailand. Additionally, attendees had the chance to win round-trip tickets between Fukuoka and Bangkok, and there were cultural performances showcasing Thai culture on stage.
