The Governor of Bangkok welcomed the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation to discuss joint activities between Thailand and Russia in 2024: Year of Cultural Exchange and Tourism

On 3rd October 2023 at 8.00 hrs., H.E. Mr. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation, and Mr. Sorrakom Sutthisangiam, First Secretary of the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, and were jointly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Wisanu Subsompon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, executives from Culture, Sports and Tourism Department, Environment Department and International Affairs Office, Office of the Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration at
Amarin Room, 2nd floor, Bangkok City Hall, Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok.

In this courtesy call, the Governor of Bangkok and Mr. Wongsinsawat discuss joint activities between Thailand and Russia in 2024: Year of Cultural Exchange and Tourism, such as bringing Mr. Igor Butman, a Russian national artist, to perform a musical event in late January 2024 during Bangkok Design Week 2024. The event is expected to be held in one of the BMA public parks on 27th January 2024 and the Governor of Bangkok is delighted to extend support for the event. 

The Governor of Bangkok and Mr. Wongsinsawat also discuss ways to strengthen relationships between Bangkok and Moscow through various cooperations and activities. For example, artists and designers from Moscow will participate in Bangkok Design Week 2024 which will be held under the theme of "Livable Scape - the more people do, the better the city becomes". Furthermore, Mr. Wongsinsawat recommends the BMA to join the “Thai Festival” in Moscow to promote Bangkok tourism to Russian tourists. He also states that Moscow is notable for high mobility within the city thanks to the city’s large scale of electric scooter usage. Therefore, the BMA can exchange knowledge in this area with Moscow. In addition, the Governor of Bangkok suggests exploring hidden spots in Bangkok that are interesting and can attract Russian tourists.
