On October 19, 2023, at 10.00 hrs., Ms. Jess Strong, Director of Advancement, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, paid a visit to the Governor of Bangkok to seek cooperation between the BMA and UIUC, share updates from campus, and ways the Governor can stay connected to the university.
During the discussion, the Governor of Bangkok shared his memories and experiences of life during his time as a student at the university. He also explained his current role as the Governor of Bangkok. Ms. Strong stated that the Governor of Bangkok is one of the alumni who has brought great pride to the university. She also shared some updates on the university and was pleased to provide contact information of UIUC and be a focal point between the Governor and the university’s professors and alumni.
Additionally, Ms. Strong mentioned that the university is interested in cooperating with the Strategy and Evaluation Department in City Lab and the Medical Service Department in establishing a global medical network. In this regard, the Governor expressed agreed with the idea and would assign the relevant departments under the BMA to proceed with the collaboration. The Governor also conveyed his appreciation to Ms. Strong for this meeting and asserted that the BMA was delighted to extend support to the university in various fields.
