Ambassadors from foreign countries, Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials, and guests of honor attended the opening ceremony at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre in Pathumwan district.

The Governor of Bangkok said that the photo exhibition "Two Countries through the Lens of a Thai Diplomat and a Turkish Diplomat" is very important because it shows that diplomacy is not just about state-to-state or city-to-city affairs, but also about friendship between people. The photo exhibition illustrated the friendship between the two countries, even though they are geographically distant but there are many similarities in various aspects. Moreover, Bangkok is committed to creating spaces for collaborations from these close ties for both the city and people level at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.

In addition, the Turkish Ambassador and the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs spoke about the origins of the photo exhibition, which stemmed from the friendship of the two diplomats who shared a hobby of photography. The photo exhibition is therefore like a window that opens to see the close cultural ties between Thailand and Türkiye.

The photo exhibition is a collaboration between the Embassy of Türkiye to Thailand, Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. It features over 40 photos of landscapes in Thailand and Türkiye to show the close ties between the two countries, cities, and people, and to reflect the similarities in various aspects such as society and culture. It is held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey and the establishment of the capital, Ankara, as well as the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Thai-Turkish diplomatic relations. The exhibition features photos by Thai and Turkish diplomats, Mr. Melican Ersen, Deputy Head of the Diplomatic Mission of the Turkish Embassy in Thailand, and Mr. Teerawat Wongkaew, Counsellor, Department of International Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
