On January 29, 2024 at 16.00 hrs., the Moscow City Government delegation led by H.E. Mr. Alexey Fursin, Minister of Moscow City Government, Head of the Department of Culture of the City of Moscow, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok at Amarin Room, 2nd floor, Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha). The delegation was accompanied by H.E. Mr. Evgeny Tomikhin, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Thailand, and on the BMA side, Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok and Secretary to the Governor of Bangkok joined in welcoming the delegation.
Today, Mr. Fursin introduced Moscow City, emphasizing its overall development to improve people’s well-being through various approaches. These include park development, strategies to support culture, design, and the film industry. In addition, he also shared the best practices of Moscow as a smart city, utilizing technology to enhance the city’s system such as transportation, education, public transport systems, etc. In this regard, the Governor of Bangkok presented an overview of Bangkok City, outlining the vision for Bangkok to be “a livable city for all”. He also focused on coping with capillary issues (small-scale issues) rather than solely pursuing mega projects, believing that fixing small problems is also important for improving the citizens’ quality of life. Furthermore, the Governor encouraged knowledge sharing and collaboration between Bangkok and Moscow as both are Sister Cities.
