The Governor of Bangkok welcomed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade from Luxembourg

The Governor of Bangkok welcomed and discussed with

the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and
the delegation from Luxembourg on city administration, and led the delegation to inspect waste management in the Chao Phraya River

On 9th  February 2024, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, the Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Wisanu Subsompon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Pornphrom Vikitsreth, Adviser to the Governor of Bangkok, and Chief Sustainability Officer of Bangkok, together with the representatives of BMA’s City Law Enforcement Department, Environment Department, Drainage and Sewerage Department, and International Affairs Office welcomed H.E. Mr. Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and the delegation from Luxembourg on the occasion of official visit to Bangkok. The delegation, along with H.E. Mr. Patrick Hemmer, Ambassador of Luxembourg to Thailand, had a meeting with the Governor of Bangkok, and discussed on city administration which was focused on urban environmental challenge, urban development, and water waste management. In addition, the delegation also introduced waste management specialists from Luxembourg to the BMA’s representatives during the discussion. In this regard, Dr. Prinya Thaewananarumitkul, Chair of the Executive Board of Puey Park for People and Sustainability, was invited to attend the event as the representative from Thai education sector, as well. Aside from the discussion, the Governor of Bangkok led the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and the delegation from Luxembourg to the boat tour along the Chao Phraya River, and Bangkok Noi canal for inspecting garbage collection and waste segregation in the Chao Phraya River. Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Xavier Bettel, Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade and the delegation took a boat tour along the Chao Phraya River, starting from Wat Prayurawongsawat Worawihan Pier and ending at the Bangkok Noi canal.
