Officials from the Bureau of Foreign Languages, the Secretariat of the Senate attends the study visit at the Bangkok City Hall on the topic “BMA’s Foreign Affairs operations, organizational image promotion and personnel development to support Foreign Relations missions.”
On 14th March 2024, Officials from Bureau of Foreign Languages, the Secretariat of the Senate attended the study visit at the Bangkok City Hall on the topic “BMA’s Foreign Affairs operations, organizational image promotion and personnel development to support Foreign Relations missions.” at the Suthat meeting room, Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha). This is the event under the Secretariat of the Senate’s 2024 international relations operations development through multicultural learning project (Enhancing experience and exchanging knowledge on foreign relations missions support in a multicultural society by studying from external agencies). The objective is to enhance the Bureau of Foreign Languages personnel’s knowledge and understanding on cultural differences and diversity and boost their creative thinking for their work by using modern technology to make it more efficient.
Mr. Chatree Wattanakhejorn, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the BMA gave the opening remarks to the study visit delegation from the Bureau of Foreign Languages, the Secretariat of the Senate. In his remark, he mentioned about the importance of the Foreign Affairs in being one of the gears supporting the development and management of the city in various aspects. The International Affairs Office is the central agency of the BMA in coordinating and building cooperation with foreign countries, at the city level and with international organizations and networks to promote Thailand’s role in international stage at the city level by linking the global agendas to city operations or bringing knowledge or cooperation to enhance the efficiency of mission operations. This aspect is to help Bangkok achieve its goal of being “livable city for all” and strive to be the "Metropolis of Asia." He also mentioned the importance of the potential development of Foreign Relations Officers to be able to work in the best possible way, including maintaining a good image of the city and building international confidence in Bangkok.
Afterward, the delegation listened to the presentation on the topic on the topic “BMA’s Foreign Affairs operations, organizational image promotion and personnel development to support Foreign Relations missions.” The presentation was about the importance of Bangkok and the Bangkok administration, the organization's image promotion through conducting foreign missions and cooperation with sister cities and international organizations/international networks, the connection between Foreign Affairs and the Bangkok Development Plan, the Bangkok’s Foreign Affairs strategic plan, and the Governor of Bangkok’s policies including personnel development to support foreign missions of the BMA. After the presentation, both parties exchanged experiences and knowledge in working in the Foreign Affairs field, including personnel development to support the foreign missions.
