Governor of Bangkok meets with Export Manager of Eco-Counter from France

On March 27th, 2024, 8 am, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok welcomed Mrs. Alice Caron, Export Manager at Eco-Counter from France together with Mr. Damien Perez, Senior Trade Advisor (Technology and Services) Business France Thailand, to present the technology of Eco–Counter Company: counting solutions to measure bike and pedestrian volumes, service regarding counting and much more. Additionally, Director-General of Traffic and Transportation Department, Deputy Director-General of Environment Department, representatives from Department of City Planning and Urban Development and International Affairs office also joined the meeting at the Amarin Room, Bangkok City Hall. During the meeting, Eco–Counter Company presented its counting technology that can be applied in the context of the mission and duties of Bangkok. This includes counting technology to measure bike and pedestrian volumes on a variety of infrastructure settings, including: cycle lanes, boulevards and tracks, urban walkways, pedestrian squares, commuting bridges, visualizing bike and pedestrian volume hotspots across a network. These can capture daily, weekly, and seasonal trends. Counters can be installed in a variety of environments which Bangkok may consider installing at road intersections or public parks. These counting data can be used for operations and can be analyzed for various purpose uses for instance, follow the impact of policies such as pro-cycling policies and quantify the impact of city-wide initiatives, such as ‘car-free day’ including justify infrastructure spending etc.

In this regard, the Governor of Bangkok asked for additional details on the proposed technologies along with idea exchange and possibility to test these technologies in Bangkok on counting the number of people attending large and important national or city events, such as the Songkran Festival to monitor safety and limit the number of people entering the area (crowd control).
