UNDP in collaboration with Bangkok to carry out “Just Energy Transition (JET)”
Mr. Chatchat Sitthiphan, Governor of Bangkok welcome UNDP Delegation led by Mr. Riad Meddeb, Director of the Sustainable Energy Hub and the representatives of the National Energy Technology Center to discuss cooperation in conducting a scope of mission for a just energy transition (Just Energy Transition: JET) in Thailand. The Governor and UNDP representatives exchanged information on the current situation of a just energy transition at the local level to assess gaps, priorities, engagement among different stakeholders both public and private sectors to accelerate just energy transition in the country.
The Just Energy Transition describes a low-carbon transition that is fair, inclusive, creates decent work opportunities and leaves no one behind.
