Maldives exchanged views on Bangkok's urban development planning
(May 28, 2024) The Department of City Planning and Urban Development and the International Affairs Office jointly welcomed Mr. Ibrahim Shaheen, President of the Gaafu Alif Atoll Council (G.A Atoll) Council of the Maldives, along with council members and representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in Thailand. The delegation attended a briefing and exchanged views on Bangkok's urban development planning.
Ms. Sukontha Srikiawloh, Head of the Evaluation and Urban Planning Standards Section, and Ms. Wannarawee Thanakanya, an urban planner from the Urban Planning Office, delivered
a presentation on "Sustainable Urban Development Planning and Implementation in Bangkok." They also discussed measures to promote development through the Floor Area Ratio (FAR) Bonus in Bangkok's comprehensive plan. In this occasion, the delegation expressed particular interest in Bangkok's green space development and the strategies to address urban challenges, especially the impact of climate change on the city.
