Commander of TCG Kınalıada Frigate of the Turkish Republic Navy Force paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Bangkok on the occasion of the Bangkok visit of TCG Kınalıada Frigate
On 24th May 2024 at 10.00 hrs., H.E. Commander Serkan Doğan, Commander of TCG Kınalıada frigate of the Turkish Republic Navy Force, and crew members paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Bangkok, together with H.E. Mrs. Serap Ersoy, the Turkish Ambassador to Thailand, and Mr. Mehlican Ersen, Deputy Head of Mission of the Turkish Embassy in Thailand, totaling 6 persons. The visit aims to introduce himself and get to know each other on the occasion of the TCG Kınalıada frigate of the Turkish Republic Navy Force visiting Bangkok en route to Japan to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Türkiye and Japan. In this regard, the Director and the Officials from the International Affairs Office jointly welcomed at Amornphimarn Room, Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha), Phra Nakhon District.
The commander introduced himself and thanked the Governor of Bangkok for the warm welcome. He outlined his journey to Japan to commemorate the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Türkiye and Japan. The TCG Kınalıada (F-514) frigate has departed from Foça Port in Izmir, the Republic of Türkiye, following the path of the Ertuğrul frigate of the Ottoman Empire, which sailed to bolster relations with the Japanese Empire in 1890. En route to Japan, the frigate will stop in 24 ports across 20 countries, including the State of Qatar, the Republic of India, Malaysia, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the People's Republic of China. At each port of call, the commander's mission will be to advance Turkish foreign policy goals and enhance relations with the visited countries.
On the same day at 19.00 hrs., the Governor of Bangkok participated in the reception of the TCG Kınalıada frigate visiting Bangkok at the Berth 22A, Bangkok Port, Khlong Toei District by the invitation of H.E. Commander of TCG Kınalıada and the Turkish Ambassador in honor of the said occasion.
