Toward : Future Bangkok for a Resilient and Livable City
On June 17 - 21, 2024, The French Development Agency (AFD), in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Urban Design and Development Center, Center of Excellence in Urban Strategies, Chulalongkorn University (UDDC-CEUS), jointly organized an event of Policy Dialogue in “Toward 2050 : Future Bangkok for a Resilient and Livable City. This event provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge on urban development and foster collaboration between Bangkok and Paris.
The objectives of this meeting were to exchange knowledge in urban development from Thai and French experts, and discuss the challenges in driving Bangkok’s development towards a sustainable, resilient, and livable city. Also, discuss long-term cooperation on urban policies and innovations aligning with drafting visions and directions to drive Bangkok in order to adapt to climate change and become a livable city.
The discussion focused on six key areas namely The Approaches and strategies for urban design,
Building urban resilience,Adapting to climate change, Promoting biodiversity in the city, Enhancing health and well-being in the city, Exchanging approaches to developing resilient cities by building strong communities.
