US Congressional staff delegation and representatives paid a courtesy call on Governor of Bangkok
On 6th August 2024 at 14.30 hrs., US Congressional staff delegation and representatives From the Royal Thai Embassy, Washington D.C., paid a courtesy call on Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, and received a briefing on BMA’s missions and operations on the occasion of visiting Thailand under the 2024 Project Enhancing Knowledge of Thailand to US Governmental and Congressional staff delegation. In this regard, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tavida Kamolvej, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Pimuk Simaroj, Secretary to the Governor of Bangkok, administrators from the Strategy and Evaluation Department, and related officers jointly welcomed at Noppharat Room, Bangkok City Hall.
The Governor of Bangkok presented details about BMA’s missions and operations to the US Congressional staff delegation under the topics relating to 1) Bangkok’s overall information as Thailand’s capital, strengths and weaknesses, and upgrade development for increasing the productivity of this metropolis in the future, and 2) BMA’s implementation of strategies to make Bangkok a “Livable City for All” by focusing on the social contract, the guideline for all to comply with, and people-centric trust by empowering citizens for implementation and participation. The livable city for all will attract international talents to Bangkok as one of the important workforces in creating and pushing development to the city. The BMA has implemented such strategies to yield concrete results such as working under the concept of capillary, using Traffy Fondue Application for solving complaint problems, anti-corruption in the government system, creating working incentives among officials and personnel, taking care of the disabled, environment, permanent dwellings and so on.
