On September 11 and 18, 2024, a delegation from Quezon City, Republic of the Philippines, comprising 300 members, visited the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to study city management practices. The delegation included the Mayors of Quezon City, local government executives, Barangay Captains, and Barangay Kagawads. This visit aimed to exchange views with the BMA officials on three main topics: climate change response, public service provision through digital platforms (specifically the Traffy Fondue application), and city management strategies.
This study visit was part of the delegation’s Public Leadership and Basic Public Administration course from the Speaker Feliciano R. Belmonte Jr. School of Governance, Quezon City University. During the visit, Bangkok representatives explained and shared experiences with the Quezon City delegation. The topics included: “Public Service Provision through Digital Platforms Using the Traffy Fondue Application and City Management in Bangkok”, presented by Mrs. Rossucone Chadprasert, Chief of Research and Evaluation Section, Administrative Strategy Division, Strategy and Evaluation Department and “Climate Change Response Approaches and Flood Management Case Studies”, presented by Mrs. Sermsook Noppun, Chief of Climate Change Strategy Section, Air Quality and Noise Management Division, Environment Department, and Mr. Teerapat Tangprapruetkul, Technical and Water Management Innovation Section, Technical and Planning Division, Drainage System Development, Drainage and Sewerage Department.
