Prof. Tavida Kamolvej, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, attended Takeda Innovation Day: Innovating Health Solutions for a Brighter Tomorrow and delivered a keynote speech "Policy Innovation for Better Public Health." The event was held at the Ballroom of Conrad Hotel, Pathum Wan District.
Deputy Governor Tavida highlighted Bangkok's public health initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for its diverse and populous residents. She underscored the complexities of managing a megacity and the importance of systematic planning and execution. The city’s governor has made the development of an inclusive and efficient healthcare system a top priority, emphasizing the role of health as a cornerstone of a good and sustainable quality of life. Among the nine key policies is the "Healthy Bangkok" initiative, which focuses on promoting community health activities, strengthening primary healthcare and public health networks, improving access to integrated medical care, and fostering the development of innovative treatments.
Bangkok and Takeda have collaborated on various projects, including dengue prevention and awareness campaigns. These efforts have led to a significant reduction in dengue cases in Bangkok this year. Both parties hope to expand their cooperation to improve healthcare access for Bangkok residents and make the city a better place for everyone, as per the city's goals.
To commemorate its 55th anniversary in Thailand, Takeda (Thailand) Limited organized the Takeda Innovation Day event to showcase health innovations and foster collaboration at the national and regional levels. The event aimed to enhance Thailand's healthcare system through innovation and partnerships.
In attendance were Mr. Otaka Masato, Japanese Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Somsak Thepsutin, Minister of Public Health, Mr. Peter Streibel, Managing Director of Takeda (Thailand) Limited, and other relevant stakeholders.
