On 10th February 2025 at 10.00 hrs., H.E. Mr. Rachmat Budiman, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Thailand, together with a delegation of seven members, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, to present a commemorative painting marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Republic of Indonesia. In this regard, Deputy Governor of Bangkok (Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon), Secretary to the Governor of Bangkok (Mr. Phimuk Simaroj), Deputy Permanent Secretary for the BMA (Mr. Sunthorn Sunthornchart), and the BMA official representatives from International Affairs Office jointly welcomed at Amornphiman Room, Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha).
The painting, titled "The Soul of a Neighborhood", measures 300 x 80 cm., and was created using the technique of ink sketching on cold-pressed paper. It was crafted in 2024 by Indonesian artist Mr. Galuh Tajimalela. This painting features significant landmarks from both countries: Wat Arun and Borobudur. The landmarks symbolize the spiritual power that fosters unity and harmony.
Additionally, the Governor of Bangkok and the Ambassador plans to organize activities that would strengthen mutual relations and celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Republic of Indonesia. The celebration events will include a tree-planting event at Pathumwananurak Park, visit exchanges at official and student levels, education collaborations, and the renewal agreement of the sister city relationship between the BMA and the Government of Jakarta.
