University of Seoul’s Study Visit in Bangkok
On February 6, 2025, Ms. Pannarai Chingchit, Deputy Director-General of Strategy and Evaluation Department, Mr. Thosapol Suparee, Deputy Director General of Environment Department, Mrs. Jiraporn Pungprawat, Director of City Relations Promotion Division, along with officials and staff from the Strategy and Evaluation Office, the Environment Department, International Affairs Office and World Bank welcomed a delegation from the College of Urban Science, University of Seoul, consisting of 8 students, on the occasion of a study visit under the World City Exploration Project. The main topics of the study visit were: 1) Rebirth as Riverfront-Centric City: Exploring Sustainable Urban Transformation through Riverfront Development and International Policy Exchange; 2) Heat-Resilient City: Bangkok and Seoul’s Extreme Heat Dealing Methods.

In the morning, at the Nopparat Room, Bangkok City Hall 1, there was an activity to visit Bangkok City Hall, study on Bangkok's policies and current key issues in the city, and interview about the city's issues. Then, in the afternoon, the delegation had the opportunity to study the development of riverside areas, and a boat trip provided by the City Law Enforcement Department to visit and explore important points of urban innovation and hot spots, with Mr. Nuttachai Rungrojvittayakul, Civil Engineer, Drainage and Sewerage Department as a guest speaker.
