On June 13, 2025, from 13:30 p.m. to 15:00 p.m., a delegation of officials from San Pedro City, Laguna Province, Republic of the Philippines, visited Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and attended a briefing on the city's waste management practices. Mr. Panuwat Onthes, Director of the Office of Solid Waste Management Strategy, along with relevant officials, welcomed the delegation and delivered a presentation at Meeting Room 2, Department of Environment, 2nd Floor, Department of Public Works Building, Bangkok City Hall 2, Din Daeng.

Mr. Panuwat Onthes, Director of the Office of Solid Waste Management Strategy, along with relevant officials, welcomed the delegation and delivered a presentation at Meeting Room 2, Department of Environment, 2nd Floor, Department of Public Works Building, Bangkok City Hall 2, Din Daeng.

Ms. Tassanee Artwichit, Chief of Area Waste Sorting Development Section 2, presented information on Bangkok’s approach to solid waste management, including waste segregation at source, the fee collection system, the conversion of food waste into compost, as well as strategies for waste reduction and initiatives to promote public participation at the community level.

Following the presentation, the delegation from the Republic of the Philippines engaged in a Q&A session, during which both parties exchanged views and shared experiences. Afterward, Mr. Panuwat Onthes led the delegation on a site visit to observe various waste segregation points within the premises of the Department of Environment.

This study visit provided an excellent opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and experience in waste management between Bangkok and San Pedro City, Laguna Province. It proved beneficial to the development of local environmental management systems in both countries and will contribute to the advancement of sustainable waste management practices in the future.
