Bangkok has joined the Breathe Cities project, a global initiative supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Clean Air Fund, and the C40, to assist cities in comprehensively addressing air pollution. This is achieved by integrating air quality data, collaborating with communities, and promoting city-level action.
On this occasion, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt participated in the opening of the Breathe Cities workshop and announced Bangkok's commitment to accelerating action on air quality as the dust season approaches, which could affect public health.
The Breathe Cities Global Workshop is one of the project's key activities. It promotes knowledge sharing and strengthens collaboration among participating cities to find solutions to air pollution, accelerate air quality actions, and achieve public health and equity goals. Participants in the workshop will gain up-to-date knowledge to help develop air quality policies, a major priority for the city.
