The two sides discussed activities to promote relations between Thailand and the People’s Republic of China on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties, as well as the 32nd anniversary of the sister city relationship between Bangkok and Beijing.
Beijing has a city development approach that incorporates technology alongside government measures to create sustainable development. The Beijing representatives offered three future cooperation proposals:
- Promoting exchanges in all dimensions, expanding cooperation, and delving deeper into development issues between the two cities, with a focus on improving the quality of life for the citizens to achieve tangible collaborative efforts.
- Promoting cooperation in the areas of policing and public safety to ensure the safety and security of citizens and visitors.
- Promoting social and cultural exchanges and fostering mutual understanding between the citizens of both cities.
As the capital city, like Beijing, Bangkok recognizes the importance of these initiatives and will work together to advance the proposed cooperation. In this regard, the Advisor to the Governor of Bangkok praised the People's Republic of China, stating that the great leap in urban development lies in "human resource development," which is a critical mechanism for future urban development.
Additionally, the Advisor to the Governor of Bangkok proposed the establishment of a working group for close cooperation with sister cities in the People’s Republic of China to achieve concrete goals in the relations between the two cities.
