The Chairman of the Russia-Thailand Business Council paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Bangkok to discuss potential areas of cooperation and to invite the Governor to upcoming forums.
(22 September 2025) Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, together with Mr. Torsak Chotimongkol, Chairman of Adviser to Governor of Bangkok, welcomed H.E. Mr. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand in the Russian Federation, Mr. Ivan Demchenko, Chairman of the Russia-Thailand Business Council, and Mr. Andrey Kastyulin, Director of the Representative Office of the Russia-Thailand Business Council in Thailand, who paid a courtesy call. The meeting included an exchange of views on potential areas of cooperation beneficial to Bangkok as a whole, including collaboration in business development and the advancement of waterborne transport using electric boats. The meeting took place at Amarin Room, Bangkok City Hall, Giant Swing.
In addition, the Ambassador invited the Governor of Bangkok to attend the International Municipal BRICS Forum (IMBRICS), a major international business conference aimed at strengthening cooperation in urban and municipal development among BRICS countries and other partner nations of the Russian Federation. This year, the Forum is scheduled to be held from 29 to 31 October 2025 in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. The Ambassador also extended an invitation to the Governor of Bangkok to join the Russian-Thai Investment Forum, co-organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow and the Russia-Thailand Business Council, which will take place from 26 to 28 November 2025 in Phuket Province, Thailand, with the objective of expanding markets and enhancing trade and investment between Thailand and Russia across multiple sectors.
