The Governor of Bangkok attended the Official Opening Ceremony of International Floating Book Fair 2025, on the Occasion of MV Doulos Hope’s Second Visit to Bangkok.

On 7 November 2025, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, presided over the official Opening Ceremony of the International Floating Book Fair 2025, on the occasion of      MV Doulos Hope’s Second Visit to Bangkok. The event was held at the pier near Cargo Terminal 3, Bangkok Port, Khlong Toei District.

The Governor welcomed the captain and crew of the MV Doulos Hope, noting that this was his second visit to the ship, following the first one in 2023. In his remarks, the Governor shared the vision of Bangkok as a city that aspires to be a livable place for everyone. He added that, in his role as Governor, he sees himself as a servant of the metropolis, similar to the mission of Doulos Hope, which is to share “Knowledge, Help, and Hope” with people around the world. “Nowadays, the conflicts are so prevalent. If everyone embraces the vision of Doulos Hope, I truly believe our world will become a better place. Thank you, Doulos Hope, for sharing goodness wherever you sail. Please consider Bangkok as another home where this ship will always be welcome to return,” he said.

                   The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) invites everyone to explore a unique literary experience at the International Floating Book Fair, as the MV Doulos Hope returns to Bangkok once again. The ship brings a wide selection of English-language books covering topics such as education, culture, and family, along with an exhibition and an international volunteer team of over 160 people from 37 countries. The event will take place from 7 to 30 November 2025, at the pier near Cargo Terminal 3, Bangkok Port, Khlong Toei District. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, from 13.00 to 20.30 hrs. (last entry at 20.00 hrs.). Admission is 20 Baht (cash only) and free entrance for people under 12 and over 65 years old.
