Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Thailand Paid a Farewell Courtesy Call to Governor of Bangkok on the Occasion of the End of His Term in Thailand
On 2nd December 2025 at 11.00 hrs., H.E. Mr. Rachmat Budiman, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Thailand, together with a delegation of six members, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, to bid farewell on the occasion of the end of his term in Thailand. In this regard, Assoc. Prof. Tavida Kamolvej, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) official representatives from the International Affairs Office jointly welcomed at the Amornphiman Room, Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha).
The Ambassador expressed his condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, and conveyed his appreciation to the Governor of Bangkok for the continuous support extended to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Thailand, particularly in cultural cooperation. He also discussed potential education collaboration between the BMA and the Embassy. In addition, the Governor of Bangkok expressed concerns regarding the flood situation in the Sumatra region of Indonesia. Both sides also discussed various issues, including Indonesia’s capital relocation, urban management between Bangkok and Jakarta, particularly water management and population density, as well as climate change impacts affecting both cities. The discussion further reaffirmed the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries.
On this occasion, the Governor of Bangkok presented a Benjarong framed artwork featuring traditional Thai patterns to the Ambassador and the Ambassador also presented a Parang-patterned batik shirt, symbolizing continuity, leadership, and strength, to the Governor of Bangkok.
