(2 December 2025) Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, welcomed Mr. Oleksandr Usyk, Super Heavy Weight World Boxing Champion and his delegation at Amarin Room, Bangkok City Hall.
On the occasion of his visit to Bangkok to attend the 2025 Annual General Meeting of the World Boxing Council (WBC), Mr. Oleksandr Usyk, the world champion in the Super Heavyweight, paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Bangkok to introduce himself and promote his brand and professional boxing with Thai key figures. . Mr. Usyk stated that he began his sporting journey by playing football before turning his interest toward boxing. Before achieving his success today, he dedicated himself to rigorous training and physical preparation, never giving up and maintaining strong discipline to keep his body ready for every fight. He added that he gets only a short period of real rest after finishing each match. The Governor of Bangkok thanked Mr. Oleksandr Usyk and his delegation for honoring the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration with their visit. He agreed that “discipline in life” is essential for achieving true success. He also invited Mr. Usyk to visit Bangkok and Thailand during his free time from boxing, noting that Bangkok is one of the world’s prime tourist destinations. Before the farewell, the Governor of Bangkok presented Mr. Usyk with a Muay Thai book as a souvenir.
