New Ambassador of the State of Israel to Thailand Paid a Courtesy Call on the Governor of Bangkok After Assuming Office
On 13rd September 2026 at 15.30 hrs., H.E. Ms. Alona Fisher-Kamm, the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Thailand, together with Mrs. Dvora Dorsman Yarkoni, First Secretary from the Embassy of Israel in Thailand, and Mr. Tomer Shpilman, Head of Israel’s Economic and Trade Mission to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Bangkok to officially introduce herself after assuming the position, exchange views, and discuss areas of collaboration. In this regard, Mr. Wisanu Subsompon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Pornphrom Vikitsreth, Advisor to Governor of Bangkok and Chief Sustainability Officer, Miss Woranuch Suaykakaow, Director-General of Environment Department, Mrs. Kutcharin Jiamsripong, Director-General of Digital Department, Mr. Chatchaya Khamchan, Deputy Director-General of Drainage and Sewerage Department, and officers from International Affairs Office jointly welcomed the delegation.
The Ambassador expressed her admiration for Bangkok as a city for everyone, highlighting its beauty in terms of architecture, ways of life, and its people. She also commended the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration for the continued cooperation with the Embassy. Both sides mentioned cooperation in the areas of culture and technology. This includes the possibility of exchanging knowledge on various fields of Israel’s expertise, such as emergency response, water management, flood prevention, and climate change. The discussion also touched on smart city development, including intelligent traffic systems, cybersecurity technology, and medical technology, particularly in elderly care. On this occasion, the Governor of Bangkok expressed his gratitude to the Israeli rescue teams for their assistance during the recent earthquake in Bangkok, commending their dedication and professionalism.
In addition, both sides discussed organizing activities to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the State of Israel and the Kingdom of Thailand. The Ambassador proposed commemorating activities such as outdoor cinema, musical performances, exhibitions, and participation in various cultural festivals, with the aim of further strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.
