BMA Hosts 2025 Aichi-kai Scholarship Ceremony, Expanding Educational Opportunities for Students under Its Affiliation
On 30 March 2026, from 10.00 to 11.00 hrs., at the Rattanakosin Room, Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha), the International Affairs Office of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) hosted the 2025 Aichi-kai Scholarship Award Ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Miss Aranya Pornchaiya, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the BMA. Also in attendance were BMA executives, including Mr. Kosol Singhanat, Deputy Director-General of Education Department, and Mrs. Jiraporn Pungprawat, Director of International Affairs Office, along with officials from International Affairs Office, who jointly welcomed Mr. Shintaro Takeuchi, President of the Aichi-kai Club, together with the club’s executive members, teachers, and 15 scholarship recipients from schools under the BMA. The event was conducted in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the strong ties between Thailand and Japan.
The Aichi-kai Club, established in 1978, is a club formed by private sector entities headquartered in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, with branches operating in Thailand. The Club aims to strengthen relations between Thailand and Japan while carrying out public benefit activities. It currently comprises approximately 140 companies. The Aichi-kai Scholarship Award Ceremony represents a longstanding collaboration between the Aichi-kai Club and the BMA, having been held continuously since 1989 for a total of 38 years, in support of the BMA’s educational policies.
On this occasion, Miss Aranya Pornchaiya, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for the BMA, expressed gratitude to the Aichi-kai Club for its continued support of education, aligning with Bangkok’s “Learning” policy, which promotes equitable and inclusive educational opportunities. The Deputy Permanent Secretary also noted that the scholarships play a vital role in advancing the Thailand Zero Dropout policy, preventing students from leaving the education system. The awarding of scholarships inspires them to further develop themselves into valuable contributors to society.
Following this, Mr. Shintaro Takeuchi, President of the Aichi-kai Club, emphasized that education is a fundamental foundation for developing youth into the nation’s future leaders, stating that the Club aims to strengthen Thailand–Japan relations through economic cooperation and sustained support for education, encouraging students to fully realize their potential and become key contributors to the country’s future, and expressing appreciation to the BMA for hosting the ceremony with honor and dignity.

- Mr. Natthawut Samphoathong, Grade 6, from Surao Hayeemina School
- Miss Phanitha Aimsub, Grade 6, from Wat Rachasittharam School
- Miss Thongdee Thamchai, Grade 6, from Wat Sai School
- Mr. Surachai Wongsa, Grade 6, from Wat Ratchakrue School
- Miss Piramon Thongwon, Grade 9, from Yaemchatwitchanuson School
- Miss Maneechot Saetang, Grade 6, from Wat Rat Sattha Tham School
- Miss Gunnapas Wathasaereesin, Grade 6, from Somphot Krung Anusorn (Song Roi Pi) School

In closing, the scholarship recipients presented tokens of appreciation to the executives of the Aichi-kai Club in gratitude for their support. The Aichi-kai Scholarship Award Ceremony represents another significant collaboration aimed at expanding educational opportunities, enhancing youth potential, and strengthening the education system, ultimately contributing to sustainable social development.
