
On 18 January 2019 at 10.00 a.m., H.E. Dr. Meir Shlomo, Ambassador of State of Israel to Thailand, together with Mrs. Smadar Shapira, First Secretary, paid a courtesy call on Pol. Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok. In this regard, Chairman of Advisors to Governor of Bangkok (Mr. Vallop Suwandee), BMA Inspector General (Mrs. Saowapak Krajangyooth), Advisors to Governor of Bangkok (Pol. Gen. Chinatat Mee sukh and Mr. Tamarat Wanglee), Assistant Secretary to Governor of Bangkok (Mr. Kosin Tesawong), and BMA officials jointly welcomed at Amornphimarn Room, Bangkok City Hall.
Governor of Bangkok welcomed and congratulated the Ambassador of the State Israel on his assumption of duty in Thailand. The Ambassador mentioned about the 65 years of diplomatic relations between the State of Israel and the Kingdom of Thailand and the continued good relationships between the two countries as well as assistance given to Thai government such as during the flood situation in 2011. He also expressed his readiness to work closely or engage in future cooperation in other fields related to Bangkok challenges. Governor of Bangkok mentioned that Bangkok currently faces with air quality and high level of hazardous dust particles in greater Bangkok. There are also other challenges that need to be solved, for example, water management and traffic management. Before leaving, ambassador delivered an invitation letter to Governor of Bangkok for attending the 33rd International Mayors Conferences at Tel-Aviv from 24 to 28 February 2019.
