On 15 January 2019, Pol. Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, together with BMA Inspector General (Mrs. Maalee Phiromjit), Advisers to Governor of Bangkok (Pol.Lt.Gen. Sopon Pisuttiwong, Pol.Maj.Gen. Panurat Meepien and Mr. Tammarat Wanglee), Director of International Affairs Office and BMA Officials welcomed Mr. Lorenzo Galanti, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy on occasion of new appointment as an ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the Kingdom of Thailand at Amornphimarn Room, Bangkok City Hall. Both sides discussed matters relating to the close and long - lasting relations between the two countries.
Italian ambassador stated that Thailand and Italy have great power in culinary industry and tourism. In this connection, the Italian ambassador proposed to establish the sister city relations between Bangkok and cities in Italy such as Rome, Milan and Venice in order to implement the more comprehensive cooperation in the future. In addition, the ambassador said that the embassy has organized many cultural events and the embassy well received the kind assistance and cooperation from Bangkok always. For the next consecutive events, the embassy is pleased to deliver the invitation letter to the Governor of Bangkok and BMA representatives for consideration. The ambassador also stated that from now on the groups of Italian representatives are expected to come to in Thailand for completing the missions, they may ask for Governor’s permission to pay the courtesy calls at the Governor’s convenience. Although, the relations of the two countries has been continuously maintained for years, It is proper opportunity to seek cooperative development and promotion in various potential fields for mutual benefits of both countries.
