H.E. U Maung Maung Soe, Mayor of Yangon City Development Committee together with the representatives from Yangon Region Government visited Bangkok during 19-21 September 2016. The purpose of this official visit was to study on street vendors management and taxi management in Bangkok.
In this regard, Mayor of Yangon and the delegates paid a courtesy call on Mrs. Pusadee Tamthai, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, acting Governor of Bangkok on 19 September 2016 at Amornbhiman Room, Bangkok City Hall on the occasion of officially visiting Bangkok. The Mayor expressed his gratitude for warm hospitality the BMA gave him and the delegation. He was also confident that both Yangon and Bangkok can learn and share experience and knowledge of street vendors management in order to develop ourselves efficiently.
On 20 September 2016, Dr. Vallop Suwandee, Chairman of Advisers to Governor of Bangkok presented the overview of Bangkok’s street vendors management to Yangon delegation at Sutat Room, Bangkok City Hall. Moreover, Pol.Maj. Pichai Kriengwatanasiri, Director General of City Law Enforcement Department and the executives and officers from City Law Enforcement Department and Phra Nakorn District took the delegation over Pak Khlong Talat where is one of the successful cases for street vendors management in Bangkok. And in the afternoon, the delegation visited the Department of Land Transport to study about taxi management in Bangkok. Also, they had an opportunity to visit the 1584 DLT Call Center.
